It all began in seventh grade math class when Buffi decided that writing a novel was a much better use for her notebook than taking notes. Six weeks later, she was grounded from reading (gasp!) and the grand epic space adventure was put away so that she could actually participate in class. Buffi never developed a love of math, but she did pass and did get her library card back. About fifteen years and two kids later, Buffi took up the mighty pencil and notebook again to stave off the insanity of waiting for kids to finish eight-hour tutorials. Homeschooling seemed a good idea at the time, but eventually she decided to return her children to public school and let the professionals do the job they'd been trained for. To this day, she has a deep respect for teachers and no qualms about telling them how great they are. Anyway, by that time the writing bug had taken firm hold and she was determined to once again write the next great epic. This time, she picked straight fantasy. That book got a lot further than the seventh grade try but still wound up in the same box in the closet and she started looking for a new writing project. When her mother said that no one could write a paranormal or fantasy book she'd understand, the challenge was on. Buffi completed WEREMONES a year later. Her mom loves the Blue-Collar Werewolf books and avidly waits for each new book. Even the non-werewolf ones! These days, Buffi is writing as Buffi BeCraft and has recently started a new series co-authored with her grown son, Randall. What's it like writing with your son? Well, Buffi believes it's like writing with anyone else, except that you have a better idea of what's going through the other's brain. Randall thinks writing with his mom is in one word: Awesome! The best part for him is creating new characters and seeing what strange adventure that they'll go through next.
